Stewart Firth the
Elite Group's Operations Director has become a member
of the West Leeds District Partnership.
The Partnership aims to improve the quality
of living in West Leeds by: tackling crime,
improving the health and well being of residents
, improving educational standards, increasing
investment opportunities for all, improving
housing standards and making the environment
cleaner and safer.
The Partnership is currently working on four
main projects that will benefit the West Leeds
communities:-

1. The Government's 'Building
Schools for the Future' project which aims to see
that every child will be educated in a 21st Century
environment within 15 years. This will be acheived
by rebuidling, remodelling and upgrading schools to
provide flexible, inclusive, attractive learning environments
that teachers want to teach in and pupils want to
learn in.
2. Regeneration of the
neigbourhoods nearest to Leeds City Centre. Currently
in the planning stages with three planned consultancy
events to involve community, voluntary organisation
and professional views on strategy.
3. The 'West Care Plus'
programme has been set up for the elderly to improve
the quality of life, reduce the level of avoidable
hospital admissions and long term care.
4. 'Project Apollo' which
aims to clear up crime, anti-social behaviour and
improve the local environement for residents.
